RESUMO

We explore theoretically Goos-Hänchen (GH) shift around the defect mode in superconducting defective photonic crystals (PCs) in cryogenic environment. The defective PCs are constructed by alternating semiconductors and superconductors. A defect mode arises in the photonic bandgap and sensitively depends on environment temperature and hydrostatic pressure. Reflection and transmission coefficient phases make an abruptly jump at the defect mode and giant GH shifts have been achieved around this mode. The maximum GH shift can get as high as 103λ (incident wavelength), which could be modulated by the values of temperature and hydrostatic pressure. This study may be utilized for pressure- or temperature-sensors in cryogenic environment.

Background and Aims: This study is aimed at investigating the potential correlation of thyroid hormone sensitivity with visceral fat area (VFA), subcutaneous fat area (SFA), and body mass index (BMI) among euthyroid type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) subjects. Methods: Thyroid hormone sensitivity indices were calculated by thyroid feedback quantile-based index (TFQI), TSH index (TSHI), thyrotropin thyroxine resistance index (TT4RI), and free thyroxine (fT4)/free triiodothyronine (fT3) ratio. These indices were then categorized into quartiles for analysis. The outcomes were the change rates in VFA, SFA, and BMI among the participants. Result: The present study included 921 patients, with a median follow-up of 2.2 years. In multivariate linear regression, when compared to the first quartile, SFA demonstrated a notable decline in the fourth quartile of TFQI, TSHI, and TT4RI (ß coefficient = -5.78, -7.83, and - 6.84 cm2 per year), while it significantly increased in the fourth quartile of fT4/fT3 ratio (ß coefficient = 6.13 cm2 per year). Similarly, in the fourth quartile of TFQI, TSHI, and TT4RI, VFA decreased significantly, evidenced by ß coefficients of -5.14, -4.80, and -4.08 cm2 per year. Yet, among the quartiles of the fT4/fT3 ratio, no discernible trend in VFA was observed. There was no significant association between indices of thyroid hormone sensitivity and change in BMI. Conclusion: Impaired central sensitivity to thyroid hormones was significantly associated with the reduction of VFA and SFA, while impaired peripheral sensitivity was associated with an increase of SFA in euthyroid individuals with T2DM.

RESUMO

The growing demand for wearable devices has sparked a significant interest in ferroelectret films. They possess flexibility and exceptional piezoelectric properties due to strong macroscopic-dipoles formed by charges trapped at the interface of their internal cavities. This review of ferroelectrets focuses on the latest progress in fabrication techniques for high temperature resistant ferroelectrets with regular and engineered cavities, strategies for optimizing their piezoelectric performance, and novel applications. The charging mechanisms of bipolar and unipolar ferroelectrets with closed and open-cavity structures are explained first. Next, the preparation and piezoelectric behavior of ferroelectret films with closed, open and regular cavity structures using various materials are discussed. Three widely used models for predicting the piezoelectric coefficients (d33) are outlined. Methods for enhancing the piezoelectric performance such as optimized cavity design, utilization of fabric electrodes, injection of additional ions, application of DC bias voltage and synergy of foam structure and ferroelectric effect are illustrated. A variety of applications of ferroelectret films in acoustic devices, wearable monitors, pressure sensors and energy harvesters are presented. Finally, the future development trends of ferroelectrets towards fabrication and performance optimization are summarized along with its potential for integration with intelligent systems and large-scale preparation. Cost-effective bulk scintillators with high density, large-area, and long-term stability are desirable for high-energy radiation detections. Conventional bulk polycrystalline or single-crystal scintillators are generally synthesized by high-temperature approaches, and it is challenging to realize simultaneously high detectivity/responsivity, spatial resolution, and rapid time response. Here, we report the cold sintering of bulk scintillators (at 90 °C) based on an "emitter-in-matrix" principle, in which emissive CsPbBr3 nanocrystals are embedded in a durable and transparent Cs4PbBr6 matrix. These bulk scintillators exhibit high light yield (33,800 photons MeV-1), low detection limit (79 nGyair s-1), fast decay time (9.8 ns), and outstanding spatial resolution of 8.9 lp mm-1 to X-ray radiation and an energy resolution of 19.3% for γ-ray (59.6 keV) detection. The composite scintillator also shows exceptional stability against environmental degradation and cyclic X-ray radiation. Our results demonstrate a cost-effective strategy for developing perovskite-based bulk transparent scintillators with exceptional performance and high radioluminescence stability for high-energy radiation detection and imaging.

OBJECTIVES: Comprehensive evaluation of lower-extremity varicose veins (VVs) in patients with diabetes is crucial for treatment strategizing. The study aims to assess the feasibility of using ferumoxytol-enhanced MR venography (FE-MRV) for lower-extremity venous mapping and the detection of VVs in patients with diabetes. MATERIALS AND METHODS: As part of a phase II clinical trial of a generic brand of ferumoxytol, documented patients with diabetes were enrolled and underwent FE-MRV on a 3-Τ MRI system. Two observers assessed FE-MRV images for image quality, signal intensity ratio (SIR), perforator (PV) diameter, and luminal signal uniformity in deep-to-superficial venous networks with the assessment of intra- and inter-rater reliability. FE-MRV was used to detect lower-extremity VVs. RESULTS: Eleven patients underwent FE-MRV without adverse events. The average image quality, as scored by the two observers who assessed 275 venous segments, was 3.4 ± 0.6. Two observers strongly agreed on image quality (κ = 0.90) and SIR measurements (interclass correlation coefficient [ICC]: 0.72) and had good agreement on PV diameter (ICC: 0.64). FE-MRV revealed uniform luminal signals in deep and saphenous venous networks (0.13 ± 0.05 vs 0.08 ± 0.03). Below-knee segments exhibited a significantly higher heterogeneity index than above-knee (p = 0.039) segments. Superficial VVs were observed in 55% (12/22) of legs in 64% (7/11) of patients. Calf muscle VVs were present in 64% (14/22) of legs in 9 patients. CONCLUSION: FE-MRV safely and robustly mapped entire lower-extremity venous networks, enabling the detection and pre-treatment evaluation of both superficial, and deep VVs in patients with diabetes. CLINICAL RELEVANCE STATEMENT: Ferumoxytol-enhanced magnetic resonance venography offers a "one-stop" imaging strategy for the detection and pre-operative evaluation of both superficial and deep VVs in diabetic patients. KEY POINTS: Diabetic patients with VVs are at a higher risk of ulcer-related complications. FE-MRV allowed rapid and comprehensive visualization of the lower-limb venous networks and abdominopelvic veins in diabetic patients. This technique allowed for the detection of superficial and deep VVs in diabetic patients before the development of severe peripheral artery disease.

Background Studies on basilar artery occlusion are relatively few compared with those of anterior circulation stroke. The aim of the present study was to compare the efficacy of endovascular therapy (EVT) in patients with basilar artery occlusion classified as large artery atherosclerosis (LAA) and cardioembolism (CE), and to analyze the independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of EVT. Methods A total of 123 people were assigned to the LAA and CE groups (97 to the LAA and 26 to the CE). The primary outcome was a modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score of 2 or lower at 90 days. The primary safety outcome was mortality at 90 days. Secondary safety endpoints included the rates of symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage and reinfarction. Multiple logistic regression was used to screen out independent risk factors for EVT prognosis of the LAA and CE groups. Results In the analysis, the patients with LAA stroke had better collateral circulation (American Society of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology/Society of Interventional Radiology [SIR] score of 2-4; 61.9 vs. 19.2%, p = 0.000), and higher angioplasty rate (32.0 vs. 3.8%, p = 0.002). The proportions of patients with a 90-day mRS score of 0 to 2 and 90-day mortality were not found to be statistically significant between the two groups. Multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that age, SIR, white blood cell, blood glucose, and modified thrombolysis in cerebral infarction were independent risk factors for the poor prognosis of EVT in the LAA group. Conclusion Although there were differences in clinical characteristics and imaging features between LAA and CE, there was no evidence of a significant difference in prognosis after EVT. In addition, the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale score was not among the independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of the LAA group.

Epirubicin (EPI) alone can trigger mildly protective autophagy in residual tumor cells, resulting in an immunosuppressive microenvironment. This accelerates the recurrence of residual tumors and leads to antiprogrammed death ligand 1 (anti-PD-1)/PD-L1 therapy resistance, posing a significant clinical challenge in tumor immunotherapy. The combination of checkpoint inhibitors targeting the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway and amplifying autophagy presents an innovative approach to tumor treatment, which can prevent tumor immune escape and enhance therapeutic recognition. Herein, we aimed to synthesize a redox-triggered autophagy-induced nanoplatform with SA&EA-induced PD-L1 inhibition. The hyaluronic acid (HA) skeleton and arginine segment promoted active nanoplatform targeting, cell uptake, and penetration. The PLGLAG peptide was cleaved by overexpressing matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) in the tumor microenvironment, and the PD-L1 inhibitor D-PPA was released to inhibit tumor immune escape. The intense autophagy inducers, STF-62247 and EPI, were released owing to the cleavage of disulfide bonds influenced by the high glutathione (GSH) concentration in tumor cells. The combination of EPI and STF induced apoptosis and autophagic cell death, effectively eliminating a majority of tumor cells. This indicated that the SA&EA nanoplatform has better therapeutic efficacy than the single STF@AHMPP and EPI@AHMPTP groups. This research provided a way to set up a redox-triggered autophagy-induced nanoplatform with PD-L1 inhibition to enhance chemo-immunotherapy.

The segmented ringed gamma scanning (SRGS) technique represents an advancement in segmented gamma scanning (SGS) technology used for detecting the density of radioactive waste drums, offering enhanced measurement accuracy. However, significant occur errors in the reconstruction of matrix densities due to the non-uniform distribution of density in radioactive waste and the conical beam emitted from the transmission source collimator. This paper proposes a density correction method based on dichotomy to address this issue. The efficacy of this method was verified through both simulations and experiments on a sample containing five different materials, utilizing 137Cs and 60Co for transmission and emission measurements, respectively. The experimental results demonstrate that the errors in the corrected matrix densities are reduced, falling within a margin of 16.8%. Additionally, the corrected reconstruction error of the activity is approximately 25% of the uncorrected results.

The origin of highly efficient asymmetric aminohydroxylation of styrene catalyzed by engineered cytochrome c is investigated by the developed Atom-Bond Electronegativity Equalization Method polarizable force field (ABEEM PFF), which is a combined outcome of electronic and steric effects. Model molecules were used to establish the charge parameters of the ABEEM PFF, for which the bond-stretching and angle-bending parameters were obtained by using a combination of modified Seminario and scan methods. The interactions between carbon-radical Fe-porphyrin (FePP) and waters are simulated by molecular dynamics, which shows a clear preference for the pre-R over the pre-S. This preference is attributed to the hydrogen-bond between the mutated 100S and 101P residues as well as van der Waals interactions, enforcing a specific conformation of the carbon-radical FePP complex within the binding pocket. Meanwhile, the hydrogen-bond between water and the nitrogen atom in the active intermediate dictates the stereochemical outcome. Quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics (QM/MM (ABEEM PFF)) and free-energy perturbation calculations elucidate that the 3RTS is characterized by sandwich-like structure among adjacent amino acid residues, which exhibits greater stability than crowed arrangement in 3STS and enables the R enantiomer to form more favorably. Thus, this study provides mechanistic insight into the catalytic reaction of hemoproteins.

The free and bound phenolic profiles and their bioactivities of radix puerariae thomsonii (RPT) cultivars from 7 growing regions in China were investigated. Total phenolic and flavonoid contents were from 148.71 to 435.32 mg gallic acid equivalents /100 g dry weight and 561.93 to 826.11 mg catechin equivalents /100 g dry weight, respectively, with 20.64-38.28% and 32.77-47.29% contribution from bound fractions. Sixteen phenolic compounds were detected in RPTs. Bound fractions contributed 28.15-70.84% to the total antioxidant activities. The cultivars from Qiannan and Guangzhou showed much higher regulatory effects on carbohydrate hydrolyzing enzymes and alcohol metabolizing enzymes than the other cultivars. The bound fractions exhibited equivalent EC50 values for alcohol metabolizing enzymes and IC50 values for carbohydrate hydrolyzing enzymes to the free fractions in RPT cultivars. Therefore, bound phenolics significantly contributed to the potential health benefits of RPT. The results provided information for the utilization of RPT for health promoting purpose.

According to the report from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the prevalence of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection exceeded 1.2 million individuals by the year 2022, with an annual increase of about 80000 cases. The overall prevalence of hepatitis B surface antigen among individuals co-infected with HIV reached 13.7%, almost twice the rate of the general population in China. In addition to the well-documented susceptibility to opportunistic infections and new malignancies, HIV infected patients frequently experience liver-related organ damage, with the liver and kidneys being the most commonly affected. This often leads to the development of end-stage liver and kidney diseases. Therefore, organ transplantation has emerged as an important part of active treatment for HIV infected patients. However, the curative effect is not satisfactory. HIV infection has been considered a contraindication for organ transplantation. Until the emergence of highly active anti-retroviral therapy in 1996, the once intractable replication of retrovirus was effectively inhibited. With prolonged survival, the failure of important organs has become the main cause of death among HIV patients. Therefore, transplant centers worldwide have resumed exploration of organ transplantation for HIV-infected individuals and reached a positive conclusion. This study provides an overview of the current landscape of HIV-positive patients receiving liver transplantation (LT) in mainland China. To date, our transplant center has conducted LT for eight end-stage liver disease patients co-infected with HIV, and all but one, who died two months postoperatively due to sepsis and progressive multi-organ failure, have survived. Comparative analysis with hepatitis B virus-infected patients during the same period revealed no statistically significant differences in acute rejection reactions, cytomegalovirus infection, bacteremia, pulmonary infections, acute kidney injury, new-onset cancers, or vascular and biliary complications.

OBJECTIVE: We developed a simple, rapid predictive model to evaluate the prognosis of older patients with lung adenocarcinoma. METHODS: Demographic characteristics and clinical information of patients with lung adenocarcinoma aged ≥60 years were retrospectively analyzed using Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) data. We built nomograms of overall survival and cancer-specific survival using Cox single-factor and multi-factor regression. We used the C-index, calibration curve, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves, and decision curve analysis (DCA) to evaluate performance of the nomograms. RESULTS: We included 14,117 patients, divided into a training set and validation set. We used the chi-square test to compare baseline data between groups and found no significant differences. We used Cox regression analysis to screen out independent prognostic factors affecting survival time and used these factors to construct the nomogram. The ROC curve, calibration curve, C-index, and DCA curve were used to verify the model. The final results showed that our predictive model had good predictive ability, and showed better predictive ability compared with tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) staging. We also achieved good results using data of our center for external verification. CONCLUSION: The present nomogram could accurately predict prognosis in older patients with lung adenocarcinoma.

Metal-organic framework materials can be converted into carbon-based nanoporous materials by pyrolysis, which have a wide range of applications in energy storage. Here, we design special interface engineering to combine the carbon skeleton and nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with the transition metal compounds (TMCs) well, which mitigates the bulk effect of the TMCs and improves the conductivity of the electrodes. Zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 is used as a precursor to form a carbon skeleton and a large number of nitrogen-doped CNTs by pyrolysis followed by the in situ formation of Co3O4 and CoS2, and finally, Co3O4@CNTs and CoS2@CNTs are synthesized. The obtained anode electrodes exhibit a long cycle life and high-rate properties. In lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), Co3O4@CNTs have a high capacity of 581 mAh g-1 at a high current of 5 A g-1, and their reversible capacity is still 1037.6 mAh g-1 after 200 cycles at 1 A g-1. In sodium-ion batteries (SIBs), CoS2@CNTs have a capacity of 859.9 mAh g-1 at 0.1 A g-1 and can be retained at 801.2 mAh g-1 after 50 cycles. The unique interface engineering and excellent electrochemical properties make them ideal anode materials for high-rate, long-life LIBs and SIBs.

BACKGROUND: Early brain injury (EBI) is closely associated with poor prognosis in patients with subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH), with autophagy playing a pivotal role in EBI. However, research has shown that the stimulator of interferon genes (STING) pathway impacts autophagic flux. While the regulatory impact of neuritin on EBI and autophagic flux has been established previously, the underlying mechanism remains unclear. This study aimed to determine the role of the cGAS-STING pathway in neuritin-mediated regulation of autophagic flux following SAH. METHODS: A SAH model was established in male Sprague-Dawley rats via intravascular perforation. Neuritin overexpressions using adeno-associated virus, the STING antagonist "C-176," and the activator, "CMA," were determined to investigate the cGAS-STING pathway's influence on autophagic flux and brain injury post-SAH, along with the neuritin's regulatory effect on STING. In this study, SAH grade, neurological score, haematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining, brain water content (BWC), sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, Evans blue staining, immunofluorescence staining, western blot analysis, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were examined. RESULTS: Neuritin overexpression significantly ameliorated neurobehavioural scores, blood-brain barrier injury, brain oedema, and impaired autophagic flux in SAH-induced rats. STING expression remarkably increased post-SAH. C-176 and CMA mitigated and aggravated autophagic flux injury and brain injury, respectively, while inhibiting and enhancing STING, respectively. Particularly, CMA treatment nullified the protective effects of neuritin against autophagic flux and mitigated brain injury. CONCLUSION: Neuritin alleviated EBI by restoring impaired autophagic flux after SAH through the regulation of the cGAS-STING pathway.

Amorphous, α, ß, and γ-phase yttrium disilicate Y2Si2O7 pellets were synthesized by spark plasma sintering, and their chemical durability and degradation mechanisms were investigated via semi-dynamic leaching test in pH = 3 nitric acid at 90 °C. All crystalline phases displayed relatively congruent dissolution with a slight preferential release of Y. The amorphous sample showed clear incongruent dissolution with preferential release of Y, leading to a surface reorganization reaction and the formation of a SiO2 passivation layer 20-25 µm thick on the surface of the sample. This passivation layer led to a continuous decrease in the elemental release rates of the amorphous sample. The γ-phase sample displayed the lowest short-term and long-term leaching rates of Y and Si, followed by the ß, α, and then amorphous sample. The crystalline samples showed increasing release rates over time indicating a dissolution-controlled reaction mechanism. Post-leaching microstructural characterization of the ß and γ samples revealed variations in the corrosion levels of the surface grains, indicating a dependence on grain orientation.

BACKGROUND: Highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) has been able to improve the immune system function and survival of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) patients. However, Patients coinfected with HIV and hepatitis B virus (HBV) are more likely to develop end-stage liver disease (ESLD) than those infected with HBV alone. Consequently, liver transplantation is often required for these patients. This study evaluates the outcomes of orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) of HIV-HBV coinfected patients in China. METHODS: We conducted a retrospective analysis on all HIV-HBV coinfected patients that underwent OLT from April 1, 2019 to December 31, 2021 and their outcomes were compared to all HBV monoinfected patients undergoing OLT during the same period. Patient outcomes were determined, including cumulative survival, viral load, CD4 T-cell count and postoperative complications. RESULTS: The median follow-up of HIV recipients was 36 months after OLT (interquartile range 12-39 months). Almost all patients had stable CD4 T-cell count (> 200 copies/ul), undetectable HBV DNA levels, and undetectable HIV RNA load during follow-up. The 1-, 2-, and 3-year posttransplant survival rates were 85.7% for the HIV group (unchanged from 1 to 3 years) versus 82.2%, 81.2%, and 78.8% for the non-HIV group. Cumulative survival among HIV-HBV coinfected recipients was not significantly different from the HBV monoinfected recipients (log-rank test P = 0.692). The percentage of deaths attributed to infection was comparable between the HIV and non-HIV groups (14.3% vs. 9.32%, P = 0.665). Post OLT, there was no significant difference in acute rejection, cytomegalovirus infection, bacteremia, pulmonary infection, acute kidney injury, de novo tumor and vascular and biliary complications. CONCLUSIONS: Liver transplantation in patients with HIV-HBV coinfection yields excellent outcomes in terms of intermediate- or long-term survival rate and low incidence of postoperative complications in China. These findings suggest that OLT is safe and feasible for HIV-HBV coinfected patients with ESLD. TRIAL REGISTRATION: Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (ChiCTR2300067631), registered 11 January 2023.

Mesosulfuron-methyl, an inhibitor of acetolactate synthase (ALS), has been extensively used in wheats. However, it can damage wheat (Triticum aestivum) and even lead to crop death. Herbicide safeners selectively shield crops from such damage without compromising weed control. To mitigate the phytotoxicity of mesosulfuron-methyl in crops, several purine derivatives were developed based on active substructure splicing. The synthesized title compounds underwent thorough characterization using infrared spectroscopy, 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR), 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (13C NMR), and high-resolution mass spectrometry. We evaluated chlorophyll and glutathione contents as well as various enzyme activities to evaluate the safer activity of these compounds. Compounds III-3 and III-7 exhibited superior activity compared with the safener mefenpyr-diethyl. Molecular structure analysis, along with predictions of absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity, indicated that compound III-7 shared pharmacokinetic traits with the commercial safener mefenpyr-diethyl. Molecular docking simulations revealed that compound III-7 competitively bound to the ALS active site with mesosulfuron-methyl, elucidating the protective mechanism of the safeners. Overall, this study highlights purine derivatives as potential candidates for novel safener development.

Flatband localization endowed with robustness holds great promise for disorder-immune light transport, particularly in the advancement of optical communication and signal processing. However, effectively harnessing these principles for practical applications in nanophotonic devices remains a significant challenge. Herein, we delve into the investigation of on-chip photonic localization in AB cages composed of indirectly coupled microring lattices. By strategically vertically shifting the auxiliary rings, we successfully introduce a magnetic flux of π into the microring lattice, thereby facilitating versatile control over the localization and delocalization of light. Remarkably, the compact edge modes of this structure exhibit intriguing topological properties, rendering them strongly robust against disorders, regardless of the size of the system. Our findings open up new avenues for exploring the interaction between flatbands and topological photonics on integrated platforms.

Background: Diabetes mellitus is often accompanied by dyslipidemia. Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, as a novel therapeutic agent for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), have been reported to exert effects on lipid, while the results remain controversial. This study is aimed at exploring the effect of SGLT2 inhibitor canagliflozin on lipid profile. Methods: This study was a single-center, open-label, nonrandomized, prospective study. Metformin (500 mg three times per day) or canagliflozin (100 mg, once daily) was administered for 12 weeks. Fasting blood samples were collected before and 12 weeks after treatment. Serum lipid profile levels and angiopoietin-like protein 3 (ANGPTL3) were determined. In animal experiment, C57BL/6 J mice were divided into three groups including control, STZ + HFD, and STZ + HFD + canagliflozin. Lipid profile and plasma ANGPTL3 level were measured after 12 week's treatment. Moreover, the expression of ANGPTL3 was detected in the liver tissues. Results: There was a decreased trend in low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c) and triglycerides (TG) after canagliflozin treatment, while canagliflozin significantly increased high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) level and decreased plasma ANGPTL3 level. In addition, the expression of ANGPTL3 in liver tissues decreased obviously in diabetic mice with canagliflozin treatment. Conclusions: Canagliflozin increases HDL-c level and suppresses ANGPTL3 expression in patients with T2DM and diabetic mice. The reduction of ANGPTL3 may contribute to the increase of HDL-c. However, the specific mechanism needs further research. This trial is registered with ChiCTR1900021231.

The clinical benefits of statins have well-established and recognized worldwide. Although statins are well-tolerated generally, however, the report of statin-related adverse event and statin intolerance are common in China, which results in insufficient use of statins and poor adherence. The main reason may be attributed to confusions or misconceptions in the clinical diagnosis and management in China, including the lack of unified definitions and diagnostic standards, broad grasp of diagnosis, and unscientific management strategies. Based on that, this consensus carefully summarized the statin-related gene polymorphism and statin usage issue among Chinese population, and comprehensively reviewed global research data on statin intolerance, referenced guidelines, and consensus literature on statin intolerance in foreign and different regions, proposes an appropriate and easy to implement statin intolerance definition as well as corresponding diagnostic criteria and management strategies for Chinese clinicians, in order to improve the clinical application of statin drugs and enhance the prevention and treatment level of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease in China.
